Hype Text Markup Language (HTML) is an easy programming language to use. If you want to use WYSIWYG Web tools, e.g. FrontPage, to build a Web site, make sure you know HTML well. It won't take you long to be an expert in HTML.

You can find the latest HTML4 specification at W3C, which was founded by , Tim Berners-Lee , inventor of the Web.

HTML 4 (first published December 1997, revised April 1998, revised as HTML 4.01 December 1999). XHTML 1.0, which features the semantics of HTML 4 using the syntax of XML, became a Recommendation in January 2000.
